What are the 3 different kinds of remote control car kits?
There are 3 types of kits, RTR (ready-to-run), ARR (almost ready-to-run), and a kit where you assemble the car
yourself.
- RTR kits are great for beginners of remote control car hobby because they are the simplest way to start.
They are about the same price as the kits to assemble and come with everything you need – radios, servo
and motor.
Even the body is painted for you. All you have to do is charge the batteries, purchase an extra
pair of batteries and a charger, or fill the gas tank. If you want to get started right away, the RTR is for you.
The Schumacher Mini Buggy & Mini Stadium Truck 4 WD RTR 1/18th is equally at home in the office or the street and offers excellent handling and the same strength and durability that has made the Mini Monster so popular.
- ARR cars and trucks are almost totally assembled at the factory. Sometimes all you need is a
screwdriver and needle nose pliers. Veteran gearheads and entry-level racers can have this type of car up and running in
2-hours!
If you are looking for a great class to get started in R/C with or you are looking for a class to go have fun racing
without hours of preparation, 1/10
Trinity TSpec 1:10th Touring Car.
All you have to do is add a radio system which is not included.
- Kits are typically easy to assemble because they come with instructions and with most of the
supplies you will need.
If you’ve ever put together a model car, boat or airplane, you can put together a remote control car from a kit.
The XRAY T1FK’05 is the next evolution of the hugely successful multi-national champion XRAY T1 Factory Kit 1/10 scale luxury competition touring car.
Designed by the XRAY engineering team, headed by world famous Dipl. Eng. Juraj Hudy, the main focus was blending the optimized race proven geometry with a new chassis platform that would be quicker and easier to set up for all different track conditions.
The only constraint is budget. Read the fine print so you know exactly what additional supplies you may need to make a
fully functional RC vehicle.
When you build the vehicle yourself, piece by piece, you’ll know exactly how it works and
how to fix it if something breaks. Serious racers build their own remote control cars and trucks.
