Are you an enthusiast of
remote control cars with a passion for military vehicles? If so, there's a substantial market of radio control tanks for you. Tamiya has been in the business of manufacturing RC tanks for over three decades.
In addition to Tamiya RC cars and trucks, this company offers a variety of World War II and contemporary
tank models so that you can recreate historical tank battles or invent military adventures of your own-- all in your
own backyard or a stretch of off-road terrain. RC Cars Hobby will inform you of what radio control tanks are
available for your enjoyment.
With radio control tanks, you can get some of your friends together and recreate engagements from World War II!
Take some fully operational Tiger I tank models, add some Kubelwagen armored cars for support, and some King Tiger
vehicles for some heavy firepower. With these remote control vehicles from Tamiya, you'll have a sizable German
armored force. Then take some American M4 Sherman light tanks and M26 Pershing medium tanks to pit against the
Tigers, and imagine yourself in North Africa or in France as you fight for either the Axis or the Allies. You can
get these tanks in either 1/16th or 1/35th scale to suit your preferences regarding size.
If you're looking for more contemporary radio control tanks with which to enjoy your RC cars hobby, Tamiya offers A5 and A6 Leopard models, complete
with battle camouflage on their bodies. When you purchase these kits, make sure you already have a radio system of
your own to operate them. Radio control car systems don't come with the tank kits, but the good news is that you'll
be able to use virtually any radio control device compatible with similar-scale vehicles to operate the tanks.
Radio control tank kits are priced on the upper end of most RC cars and trucks; you can expect to pay anywhere
from $550 to over $1050 for a 1/16th scale Tamiya RC tank kit. If you're just starting in your RC cars hobby and
aren't comfortable with spending so much money, consider getting the Kubelwagen first; you'll only pay around $60
to $70 for it.
After you operate the Kubelwagen for enough time and get more general experience driving a radio
control car, you'll have a more accurate knowledge of your ability and level of enthusiasm in this field.
Then you'll likely make a more informed decision about whether to get the more expensive radio control tanks.
