Last week we talked about how you can design a simple body art design for your RC Car. This week I’d like to talk about a couple of tips for keeping your car electric motor RC running smoothly. These tips are common sense, but helpful.
The first step for keeping your RC cars electric car up and running is to keep it clean. While most RC cars will be run through and over mud, water, dirt, gravel and sand, cleaning your RC car after you use it will prevent a lot of problems. First of all if you clean after each use you will reduce the chances that parts will corrode or jam. You will also be able to identify parts that need to be replaced or repaired.
Another tip for keeping your RC cars up and running is to keep everything lubed properly. This will reduce friction in the engine and keep the wear and tear on moving parts down to a minimum. This process will also help you to prevent serious damage to your RC car joints.
Tip number three is to charge your battery properly. This means charging the batteries for the amount of time recommended and using the proper charging equipment. It also means that you replace batteries as they wear out or become damaged.
Last week I came across an interesting blog at Blogcash online. If you are interested in learning more about RC cars and trucks, and to read about this topic from another point of view then I highly recommend that you visit this blog.
can some one tell me how to tune the radio in a nikko “fast and furious” honda civic…
Question: car starts to shake and looses control at 30 feet away…

I’m using chain oil every now an then to keep my rc car up an running.
You really need to use a light oil – That works best for me
One of the most important things I have found in RC car maintenance is that having the bodywork intact is essential. Dents and holes let more mud and dirt in, and increase the chance that you’ll do damage to your car’s internal workings just over the course of a race.
It is essential to keep your RC cars properly maintained so that the components and parts of it will not break or won’t get damaged easily. Thank you for the tips.
I told my son he had to clean and properly oil his rc car every time he used it. Fortunately, he LOVES the hobby so much that he always does…and we haven’t had any problems…yet
Thanks for this, i’d just like to add that I just started using ELF 43z lubricant and its perfect for this, altough I admire any one who cleans it out everyday, maintenance isn’t my srong point, or anyones if they have a busy lifestyle.
My son loves his rc car so much he won’t let anyone else use it any more. He said his friends would borrow it and not clean it so it took twice as long for him to clean it. He actually said he would loan it to his friends if they gave him a $5.00 cleaning charge (up front) if they didn’t clean it before giving it back, but noone has taken him up on it. Smart kid, I’d say!
I like to race my son with our rc cars and then afterward make a contest of who’s car is the cleanest after we take them home to clean and oil them. He’s pretty good at BOTH, if I do say so myself!
I think Gordon has a great idea about seeing who’s car is the cleanest after playing with it – this is probably a fun way to encourage kids to clean their RC toys…I know I was terrible at cleaning mine when I was growing up…
Interesting how the same thing goes for real cars. One of the best ways to maintain them is to just use them.
Leave them for too long and they will develop problems. Like if you leave a car sitting all winter, that is not good for it.
Thanks for the great post!
what type of radio do you have in the civic??
It is advantageous, then, to have a repair service manual for your car, whether it is a Bugatti Veyron or a Hillman Imp. Knowing what has gone wrong with the car, and whether you can run the repairs yourself, is helpful for so many reasons. A good service repair manual will make it easier to drive with confidence, knowing that you have all the information you need to make the repair job less stressful, and possibly less expensive. You are so right. Doing the basics well will really keep the car in good order. Regular cleaning and plenty of lube (but do not over apply). Wipe off any excess with a clean cloth that is free of loose fibres.
RC cars are a great pasttime, and maybe they will get today’s kids out in the sunshine more instead of locked behind a video game console
Proper lubrication is important for not only RC cars but real cars as well. It’s amazing how much damage can be done to an RC car if it has ceased up after not being used for an extended period of time. Thanks for the tips!
I remember when I was growing up I played with my RC cars at every spare moment! They make great hobbies for kids – I guess parents should really teach children how to look after the toys though…
