RC Cars Toys: Shelcore NASCAR R/C Racer Tony Stuart

As mentioned in last week’s blog, this week I am starting a multi-part series on RC products that are designed specifically for toddlers. For this product review series, I looked specifically for RC car units that were manufactured for kids under 6. The first product that I will be reviewing is the Shelcore NASCAR R/C Racer Tony Stuart.

The first thing that attracted me to this Shelcore model, was its design. It has soft lines, an interesting character design and it looks like a lot of fun. I also liked the design of the RC unit. It was small enough to be easy to hold by toddlers, yet it had buttons that were large enough for toddlers to use easily. I also like the fact that it is very durable, it can be dropped, kicked around and bumped into things and still work. However, don’t encourage this type of RC car use, after all, the purpose of these beginner RC cars is to develop a child’s RC skills for more expensive and advanced models.

The cost of this unit is $14.99, which is very affordable, especially for an RC toy. This product is marketed to kids between 2 years of age and 5. It comes with 1R transmitter, batteries for the RC unit and the vehicles. It weighs in at a little over a pound. The only drawback that this product seems to have, is that you have to buy the batteries for the vehicle.

RC cars toys are a lot of fun, and little kids often feel left out when their older siblings play with their expensive electric rc cars. Shelcore’s NASCAR toddler RC cars are great for introducing the sport of RC car operation to toddlers.
