Over the last several weeks my blog has focused primarily on product reviews of pre-packaged remote control vehicles. This week’s blog is going to take a slightly different turn. Today I want to talk about XMODS motor upgrades.
Motor upgrades can be an inexpensive way for you to get a more powerful remote control vehicle on your racing team. However, when you shop for motor upgrade you need to make sure that the upgrade you purchase will be compatible with the rc vehicle you have and that it is designed to produce the results that you want.
If you have XMODS® RC vehicles then you have a couple of motor upgrade options. The first option is the Stage 1 Motor Engine Upgrade Super Street 600-8501. This upgrade retails for about $10.99 and offers you four different motors to choose from. Each motor in this kit is clamped onto a pinion gear that is designed to work with an eight tooth, nine tooth, ten tooth or 11 tooth gear.
Your second XMODS® motor upgrade option is the Evolution Stage 2 Motor Upgrade Kit. This kit starts around $15. This set comes with: 6 pinion gears, a motor, two 2nd gears, six spacers, a heat sink, a 2nd shaft and a removal tool. This kit doesn’t work with every XMODS® vehicle, and it is not appropriate for older XMODS®.
Modifying your XMODS or other electric and nitro rc vehicles can help you to build the car of your dreams. However, in the long run, it is sometimes more affordable to simply buy a remote control vehicle that already has the features, power and speed that you want.
