Whenever we buy gifts for our son, we just wrap it in a glossy gift wrapper. With or without gift wrapper, they’ll surely love those RC toys.

Interesting ideas … but I actually favor the complete opposite method, just popping the gift in a bag so that there is no stickytaping to be done, no ripped paper clogging up the recycling, and the bag can be re-used if you’ve kept it nice and neat. I always feel that excessive wrapping and other masking ideas like putting toilet paper rolls on the outside of the box build the gift up too much in their minds … if it isn’t a hundred percent what they wanted then you’re setting up for disappointment. How about wrapping in rags for the workshop? Functional, cheap and definitely not disappointing

I always try and use a bigger or more oddly shaped box so the people receiving the gifts do not know what it is until the very last second. The surprise is the best part.

If you’re trying to make it difficult to guess what’s inside, it’s fun to put your gift inside a box, then put that box into a larger box, and keep repeating the process until you end up with something that looks like a much larger present than it really is. Plus, it makes the process of opening the gift much more entertaining and time consuming for the person receiving the gift.
