What are the Advantages of Gas RC Cars? Gas RC cars run for a longer period of time. When gas nitro rc cars tanks are nearly empty, they can take a very short break for a “pit stop” and refuel.

Nitro RC fuel is a mixture of nitromethane and synthetic or castor oil lubricants – often times called glow fuel. It is flammable so treat with care, but it is not nearly as volatile as gasoline.

Never attempt to use gasoline in a nitro RC car engine. The engines are sometimes called glow engines.

The on-board battery that powers the vital radio gear runs on a battery, so remember to recharge it! More about that later.

  • Provide more power. Nitro RC cars and trucks can go up to 80 MPH. Astonishing!
  • Virtual Reality. Gas cars provide the ultimate in high speed excitement. For those of us who choose not to drive a life-size racing car, this sport provides us with a vicarious experience.
  • People with disabilities find it easy to participate.

What are the Disadvantages of Gas RC Cars?

  • Because Gas cars need fuel to run, they are messier due to fuel and exhaust residue. Although, now there are additives to make the exhaust smell like bubble gum, cherry juice or cotton candy!

  • They are a lot nosier than electric remote control cars. Because of the noise gas cars are designed to operate only outdoors.
  • Just like your real car, nitro RC cars require frequent maintenance and can be more expensive.
  • Replacing batteries can become expensive, so most modelers use a rechargeable receiver, which requires a charger. At first this may seems expensive, but in the long fun a rechargeable receiver pack and charger will save you money.
